 Travel To Ca'n Pastilla

The first thing you need to be aware of is that Ca'n Pastilla is very, very close to the airport. This makes it a great location for a short break, as you don't have to put up with any long transfers. As a general rule, the noise from aircraft is not a problem in Ca'n Pastilla.

If you are flying out of the U.K, you will not find many Tour Operators who offer accommodation on our part of the island, so it's usually best to travel independently using a low cost airline, such as easyJet and book your own accommodation through one of the many online booking portals. This is often a much cheaper way of doing things in any case. Here are some useful tips on getting the best deals:

Flights & Onward Travel:
Flights from the U.K normally take between 2 - 2.5 hours maximum. There are simply too many carriers to mention here, but it's a good move to shop around. The so called low cost airlines may not always offer the best price for when you want to travel. The best bet is to use one of the flight portals such as Skyscanner who will search for the lowest fare for your specific requirements over a range of airlines and give you the best quote.

Once out of Palma International Airport, the easiest way to reach Ca'n Pastilla is by bus. The 21 Service operates between the airport and Arenal between around 6am and midnight. The bus stop to Ca'n Pastilla is at the end of the taxi rank which is directly outside of the Arrivals hall in the centre of the external concourse. Do NOT attempt to board the first bus that comes along; you must wait for the Number 21 Service which will have destination Arenal on the front. If you board the Number 1 service you'll end up in Palma, which is the wrong direction. Ca'n Pastilla is around 10 minutes into the journey and will be recognisable when the bus announcement states "Hotel Linda", although if you are staying nearer Cala Estancia (at the Hotel Alexandra for instance), you may be better using the stop before this, which is not always announced; get off shortly after the Go-Kart facility if unsure. The flat single fare is currently €2 (correct July 2010). Taxi's are a complete rip off if you are travellling to and from the airport, so avoid them if possible. A 4 minute journey to Ca'n Pastilla can cost up to €20!

Alternatively, you can get the Number 1 bus (from outside the arrivals hall) into Palma and then transfer on to either the Number 15, or 23 bus. All of these will bring you directly into Ca'n Pastilla. If you are unsure of when to alight, Ca'n Pastilla is around 10 minutes from Palma in light traffic and is the first major town you will encounter. If in doubt, simply keep an eye out to your right, and alight as soon as you see the sea! The cost of the combined bus journeys should be no more that 4 Euro's. Quite a saving over the taxi option, and once you are here you can usually find a friendly local who will take you back to the airport at a fraction of the cost of a regular taxi.
